Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Calvary Christian Academy Eagles (Fort Lauderdale, FL), 70-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mater Dei upgrades its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Monarchs travel to West Ranch (Valencia, CA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 21. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 10-0. West Ranch won 65-55 in their recent non-league bout against Kell (Marietta, GA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Kell Longhorns (Marietta, GA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 21. Calvary Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Longhorns come into the bout with a 9-1 record after their 65-55 non-league loss to West Ranch (Valencia, CA).
