HCYA (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host St. John XXIII Lions (Katy, TX), 68-65 in a non-league bout.

With the win, HCYA upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The travel to Legacy Prep Christian Academy (Magnolia, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Legacy Prep Christian Academy lost 49-42 in their recent non-league bout against Sealy (Sealy, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers (Houston, TX) in a TAPPS 5A District 5 bout, on Friday, January 6. St. John XXIII will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record.
