The Mentor Cardinals basketball team scored 87 points and held the visiting Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings to 66 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cardinals now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brunswick for a Greater Cleveland contest on Tuesday, January 3. Mentor will meet a Blue Devils team coming off a 76-32 non-league win over Highland (Medina, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 5-1.

The Vikings (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Shaker Heights (Shaker Heights, OH). The Red Raiders enter the non-league contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, Shaker Heights was routed by Shaw (East Cleveland, OH), 76-64, in a league contest.
