Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals (Warrensburg, IL), 37-28 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Monticello upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Sages travel to Oakwood (Fithian, IL) to play the Comets in a non-league bout on Monday, December 26. The Comets come into the bout with a record of 9-3. Oakwood won 68-37 in their recent league bout against Armstrong (Armstrong, IL)

Next up, the Cardinals play the St. Teresa Bulldogs (Decatur, IL) in a Central Illinois bout, on Friday, January 6. Warrensburg-Latham will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record.
