Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Greenway Demons (Phoenix, AZ), 51-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Verrado upgrades its record to 6-8 on the season. The Vipers travel to La Joya Community (Avondale, AZ) to clash with the Fighting Lobos in a 5A Desert West bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Fighting Lobos go into the bout with a record of 1-11.

Next up, the Demons clash with the Shadow Mountain Matadors (Phoenix, AZ) in a 4A Skyline bout, on Saturday, December 23. Greenway will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Matadors go into the bout with a 0-9 record after their 74-45 league loss to Paradise Honors (Surprise, AZ).
