Johnson Governors (St. Paul, MN) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Maranatha Christian Academy Mustangs (Brooklyn Park, MN), 78-68 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Johnson upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Governors travel to St. Croix Prep (Stillwater, MN) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, December 22. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 3-3. St. Croix Prep won 61-41 in their recent league bout against Nova Classical Academy/Fit Academy Charter (St. Paul, MN)

Next up, the Mustangs play the St. Croix Lutheran Crusaders (West St. Paul, MN) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Maranatha Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 71-51 non-league win over Simley (Inver Grove Heights, MN).
