Laughlin Cougars (Laughlin, NV) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting River Valley Dust Devils (Mohave Valley, AZ), 49-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Laughlin upgrades its record to 1-7 on the campaign. The Cougars host Founders Classical Academy (Las Vegas, NV) to play the Centurions in a 2A Southern bout on Thursday, January 4. The Centurions come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Founders Classical Academy won 63-26 in their recent non-league bout against Indian Springs (Indian Springs, NV)

Next up, the Dust Devils play the Chino Valley Cougars (Chino Valley, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. River Valley will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 51-45 non-league loss to Lincoln County (Panaca, NV).
