Mountainside Mavericks (Beaverton, OR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shalhevet Firehawks (Los Angeles, CA), 40-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mountainside upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Mavericks travel to Vista PEAK Prep (Aurora, CO) to play the Bison in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 21. The Bison go into the bout with a record of 5-4. Vista PEAK Prep won 52-31 in their recent non-league bout against Campbell Hall (North Hollywood, CA)

Next up, the Firehawks play the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions (Las Vegas, NV) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. Shalhevet will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Mountain Lions go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 46-31 non-league win over Silverado (Las Vegas, NV).
