Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) and the host York Prep Patriots (Rock Hill, SC), saw Piedmont's basketball squad knock off York Prep by a tally of 53-36.

With the victory, Piedmont improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Anson (Wadesboro, NC) to play the Bearcats in a 2A/3A Rocky River challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 2-8. Anson won 42-29 in their recent non-league challenge against South Stanly (Norwood, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the Catawba Ridge Copperheads (Fort Mill, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 28. York Prep will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Copperheads come into the challenge with a 1-10 record after their 53-29 non-league loss to Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC).
