The Hawthorne Cougars basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles to 28 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now possess a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to Hoover for a non-league game on Thursday, December 26. Hawthorne will confront a Tornados team coming off a 64-38 non-league win over St. Monica Academy (Montrose, CA). The Tornados record now stands at 6-4.

With the loss, Animo Leadership falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Aztec eagles travel to Shalhevet (Los Angeles, CA) to confront the Firehawks in a Mulholland game on Thursday, January 9. The Firehawks go into the game with a record of 7-4.
