The Lovelady Lions basketball team scored 41 points and limited the visiting Slocum Mustangs to 33 in the Lions non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now possess a 5-7 record. They play next when they host Latexo for a 2A Region III District 20 game on Tuesday, December 31. Lovelady will play a Tigers team coming off a 71-53 league win over Leon (Jewett, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 11-10.

With the loss, Slocum falls to 12-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Cushing (Cushing, TX) to play the Bearkats in a non-league game on Saturday, December 28. The Bearkats go into the game with a record of 6-10. Cushing lost 74-50 in their recent league game against Alto (Alto, TX)
