The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Cascade Champions (Wartrace, TN) and the host Monterey Wildcats (Monterey, TN), observed Cascade's basketball team overwhelm Monterey by a score of 63-40.
The Champions (5-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Barbourville (Barbourville, KY). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Barbourville trounced Middlesboro (Middlesboro, KY), 53-46, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Van Buren County Eagles (Spencer, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Monterey will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record.
