The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the East Rowan Mustangs (Salisbury, NC) and the host South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC), observed East Rowan's basketball team edge South Iredell by a score of 51-48.

The Mustangs (6-2) will now prepare for their challenge against West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC). The Falcons come into the 3A South Piedmont challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, West Rowan was tipped by Concord (Concord, NC), 47-46, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Vikings encounter the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls (Harrisburg, NC) in a 4A Greater Metro challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. South Iredell will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record.
