The Wingate Bears basketball team scored 39 points and limited the visiting Montezuma-Cortez Panthers to 36 in the Bears non-league triumph on Friday.

The Bears now have a 6-4 record. They play next when they travel to Jemez Valley for a non-league game on Thursday, January 2. Wingate will confront a Warrior team coming off a 37-27 non-league win over Tularosa (Tularosa, NM). The Warrior record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Montezuma-Cortez falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Durango (Durango, CO) to confront the Demons in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 7. The Demons go into the game with a record of 6-2. Durango won 39-27 in their recent non-league challenge against Aztec (Aztec, NM)
