Georgia High School Basketball - Sumter County toppled by Sequoyah

December 20, 2024: Canton, GA 30115

Sequoyah Chiefs (Canton, GA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA), 65-48 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Sequoyah upgrades its record to 5-7 on the year. The Chiefs host White County (Cleveland, GA) to face the Warriors in a non-league match on Saturday, December 21. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 9-2. White County won 49-23 in their recent non-league match against Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA)

The Panthers now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Woodstock for a non-league match on Saturday, December 21. Sumter County will face a Wolverines squad coming off a 68-67 league loss to Pope (Marietta, GA). The Wolverines record now stands at 2-8.
