In Saturday's non-league contest, the host St. Joseph's Catholic Knights basketball team scored a good 50-36 triumph over the Chapman Panthers.
The Knights (8-1) will now prepare for their match against Gilbert (Gilbert, SC). The Indians enter the non-league match with a 1-8 record. In their last match, Gilbert was dropped by North (North, SC), 90-62, in a non-league match.
The Panthers now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grundy for a non-league match on Monday, December 29. Chapman will face a Golden Wave squad coming off a 57-55 non-league loss to Eastside (Coeburn, VA). The Golden Wave record now stands at 2-1.
