In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Woodland Regional Hawks basketball team scored a big 78-46 triumph over the Kennedy Eagles.
The Hawks (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Derby (Derby, CT). The Red Raiders go into the Naugatuck Valley 3 contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Derby was trounced by Crosby (Waterbury, CT), 90-11, in a non-league outing.
The Eagles (2-1) will now prepare for their outing against Wilby (Waterbury, CT). The Wildcats enter the Naugatuck Valley 2 outing with a 1-0 record. In their last outing, Wilby routed St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT), 68-59, in a league outing.
