In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Thoreau Hawks basketball team scored a tight 63-60 triumph over the Pine Hill Warriors.
In their next game, the Hawks meet the West Las Vegas Dons (Las Vegas, NM) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 7. Thoreau will attempt to better on its 5-6 season record.
With the defeat, Pine Hill moves to 2-7 on the year. The Warriors host St. Michael (St. Michaels, AZ) to meet the Cardinals in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 3. The Cardinals enter the match with a record of 4-5.
