Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Santa Ynez Pirates (Santa Ynez, CA) and the visiting Channel Islands Raiders (Oxnard, CA), saw Santa Ynez's basketball squad knock off Channel Islands by a tally of 51-37.

With the victory, Santa Ynez improves its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Orcutt Academy (Orcutt, CA) to play the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 5. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 8-4.
