The Chariton Chargers basketball team (Chariton, IA), was toppled 90-71 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs (Monroe, IA)

The Mustangs now possess a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Montezuma for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 4. Prairie City-Monroe will confront a Braves team coming off a 70-26 league win over Tri-County (Thornburg, IA). The Braves record now stands at 7-2.

The Chargers (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Davis County (Bloomfield, IA). The Mustangs come into the South Central battle with a 1-5 record. In their last battle, Davis County was toppled by Albia (Albia, IA), 81-34, in a league battle.
