Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host St. Augustine Knights (Laredo, TX), 59-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cigarroa upgrades its record to 3-13 on the season. The Toros host Zapata (Zapata, TX) to clash with the Hawks in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 0-10. Zapata lost 46-18 in their recent league bout against Port Isabel (Port Isabel, TX)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Alexander Bulldogs (Laredo, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. St. Augustine will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 17-5 record after their 70-50 non-league win over Steele (Cibolo, TX).
