Cushing Bearkats (Cushing, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Lovelady Lions (Lovelady, TX), 50-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cushing upgrades its record to 12-7 on the season. The Bearkats travel to Gary (Gary, TX) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 8-11.

Next up, the Lions play the Frankston Indians (Frankston, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Lovelady will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 69-61 non-league win over Grandview (Grandview, TX).
