The Humboldt Wildcats basketball team scored 48 points and held the host Garner-Hayfield Cardinals to 42 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Wildcats now sport a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Webster City for a North Central contest on Friday, January 5. Humboldt will meet a Lynx team coming off a 60-45 non-league loss to Nevada (Nevada, IA). The Lynx record now stands at 1-5.

The Cardinals (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against North Iowa (Buffalo Center, IA). The Bison enter the non-league contest with a 3-6 record.
