Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 63-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Patton upgrades its record to 10-1 on the season. The Panthers host East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 2-6. East Burke lost 67-62 in their recent league game against Maiden (Maiden, NC)

With the defeat, Mitchell moves to 3-4 on the year. The Mountaineers travel to Swain County (Bryson City, NC) to face the Maroon Devils in a non-league game on Wednesday, December 27. The Maroon Devils enter the game with a record of 6-3. Swain County lost 48-45 in their recent league game against Murphy (Murphy, NC)
