    The Waskom Wildcats basketball team (Waskom, TX), was overwhelmed 62-35 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Shelbyville Dragons (Shelbyville, TX)

    The Dragons now possess a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tenaha for a 2A Region III District 23 battle on Tuesday, January 2.

    The Wildcats (6-10) will now prepare for their battle against Troy (Troy, TX). The Trojans come into the non-league battle with a 8-7 record. In their last battle, Troy was overwhelmed by Little River Academy (Little River Academy, TX), 51-41, in a league battle.
