Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the South Eugene Axe (Eugene, OR) and the visiting Bend Lava Bears (Bend, OR), saw South Eugene's basketball squad overcome Bend by a tally of 44-34.

The Storm come into the challenge with a record of 4-3. Summit won 40-37 in their recent non-league challenge against Eagle Point (Eagle Point, OR)

Next up, the Lava Bears play the Caldera (Bend, OR) in a 5A Intermountain challenge, on Friday, January 5. Bend will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record.
