George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Webster County Trojans (Dixon, KY), 52-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, George Wythe upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Maroons host J.I. Burton (Norton, VA) to play the Black Raiders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Black Raiders go into the bout with a record of 3-2. J.I. Burton won 61-28 in their recent non-league bout against John Battle (Bristol, VA)

Next up, the Trojans play the Williamsburg Yellowjackets (Williamsburg, KY) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 22. Webster County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 66-31 non-league loss to Wayne County (Monticello, KY).
