The Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC), 60-9 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Mountaineers (2-5) will now prepare for their test against Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Maroon Devils go into the non-league test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, Swain County walloped Murphy (Murphy, NC), 40-29, in a league test.

The Panthers now own a 1-10 record. They play next when they host East Burke for a non-league test on Thursday, December 28. Patton will encounter a Cavaliers squad coming off a 60-40 league win over Maiden (Maiden, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 8-0.
