In Thursday's league test, the host Blackhawk Cougars ice hockey team scored a tight 7-1 win over the Freeport Yellowjackets.

The Cougars (7-2) will now prepare for their test against Wheeling Park (Wheeling, WV). The Patriots enter the test with a 10-3 record. In their last test, Wheeling Park held off Avonworth (Pittsburgh, PA), 9-7, in a league test.

Next up, the Yellowjackets encounter the Richland Rams (Johnstown, PA) in a PIHL Class A Blue test, on Thursday, January 4. Freeport will attempt to advance on its 2-11 season record.
