The Metro-East Lutheran Knights basketball squad (Edwardsville, IL), was outscored 61-49 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Hazelwood Central Hawks (Florissant, MO)

With the victory, Hazelwood Central advances its record to 6-2 on the year. The Hawks host McCluer North (Florissant, MO) to meet the Stars in a non-league battle on Friday, January 10. The Stars enter the battle with a record of 1-5.

The Knights now own a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gibault Catholic for a non-league battle on Friday, December 27. Metro-East Lutheran will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 55-47 non-league loss to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 2-7.
