The Sayre Spartans basketball team scored 62 points and limited the visiting Lafayette Generals to 37 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Spartans now have a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to West Jessamine for a non-league game on Sunday, December 22. Sayre will confront a Colts team coming off a 42-38 non-league loss to Lincoln County (Stanford, KY). The Colts record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Lafayette falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Generals travel to Clay County (Manchester, KY) to confront the Tigers in a non-league game on Monday, December 23. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 5-1. Clay County won 69-60 in their recent non-league game against Anderson County (Lawrenceburg, KY)
