The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Hayden Wildcats (Topeka, KS) and the visiting Shawnee Mission South Raiders (Shawnee Mission, KS), observed Hayden's basketball team overcome Shawnee Mission South by a margin of 56-37.

The Wildcats (5-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Shawnee Heights (Tecumseh, KS). The Thunderbirds come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Shawnee Heights defeated West (Topeka, KS), 57-40, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Raiders battle the Shawnee Mission West Vikings (Shawnee Mission, KS) in a Sunflower challenge, on Friday, January 10. Shawnee Mission South will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 49-33 league win over Lawrence Free State (Lawrence, KS).
