In Thursday's non-league match, the host St. John's Cadets basketball team scored a decisive 71-50 triumph over the St. Joseph's Prep Hawks.

In their next game, the Cadets face the Goretti Gael (Hagerstown, MD) in a non-league match, on Friday, December 23. St. John's will attempt to move on its 7-0 season record. The Gael enter the match with a 10-1 record after their 63-41 non-league win over Christian Brothers (St. Louis, MO).

With the defeat, St. Joseph's Prep moves to 2-1 on the year. The Hawks travel to Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, PA) to face the Patriots in a Philadelphia Catholic match on Tuesday, January 3. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 5-1.
