Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes (Malvern, PA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Academy-Notre Dame De Namur (Villanova, PA), 54-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Villa Maria Academy upgrades its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, PA) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Archbishop Carroll lost 49-44 in their recent non-league bout against Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, NJ)

Next up, the play the Agnes Irwin Owls (Rosemont, PA) in a Inter-Academic bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Academy-Notre Dame De Namur will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record.
