Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mesa Verde Mavericks (Citrus Heights, CA) and the visiting Valley Christian Lions (Roseville, CA), saw Mesa Verde's basketball squad knock off Valley Christian by a count of 48-34.

With the victory, Mesa Verde upgrades its record to 3-5 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to Woodland (Woodland, CA) to play the Wolves in a challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Wolves come into the challenge with a record of 11-2. Woodland won 85-13 in their recent non-league challenge against Elliot Christian (Lodi, CA)

Next up, the Lions play the Foothill Mustangs (Sacramento, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 30. Valley Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 50-37 non-league loss to Ponderosa (Shingle Springs, CA).
