The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs (Watsonville, CA) basketball nipped the host Soquel Knights (Soquel, CA), 39-35 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (2-2) will now prepare for their test against Oakwood (Morgan Hill, CA). The Hawks go into the test with a 3-5 record.

The Knights now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they host Aptos for a test on Tuesday, January 3.
