Monta Vista Matadors (Cupertino, CA) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Archbishop Riordan Crusaders (San Francisco, CA), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Matadors confront the Evergreen Valley Cougars (San Jose, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 27. Monta Vista will attempt to better on its 3-2 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Westmont (Campbell, CA).

The Crusaders now have a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bellarmine College Prep for a WCAL challenge on Tuesday, January 3.
