Catlin Gabel Eagles (Portland, OR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Santiam Christian Eagles (Corvallis, OR), 62-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Catlin Gabel upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Eagles host Dayton (Dayton, OR) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 23. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 3-5. Dayton won 72-63 in their recent non-league bout against Klamath Union (Klamath Falls, OR)

Next up, the Eagles play the Sheridan Spartans (Sheridan, OR) in a 3A PacWest bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Santiam Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 58-48 non-league win over Rainier (Rainier, OR).
