Pope Greyhounds (Marietta, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Etowah Eagles (Woodstock, GA), 40-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pope upgrades its record to 11-1 on the season. The Greyhounds travel to McDonough (McDonough, GA) to play the Warhawks in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 23. The Warhawks go into the bout with a record of 9-1. McDonough won 66-35 in their recent non-league bout against North Cobb (Kennesaw, GA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Rome Wolves (Rome, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 6 bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Etowah will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record.
