University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs (Detroit, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils (Grosse Pointe, MI), 61-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, University of Detroit Jesuit upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Cubs host Chelsea (Chelsea, MI) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 3-1.

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Adams Highlanders (Rochester, MI) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 27. Grosse Pointe South will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Highlanders go into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 64-52 non-league win over Groves (Beverly Hills, MI).
