Konawaena Wildcats (Kealakekua, HI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Kealakehe Waveriders (Kailua-Kona, HI), 59-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Konawaena upgrades its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Kea'au (Kea'au, HI) to play the Cougars in a Big Island - East bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 2-2. Kea'au lost 54-15 in their recent league bout against Hilo (Hilo, HI)

Next up, the Waveriders play the St. Joseph Cardinals (Hilo, HI) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 30. Kealakehe will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
