Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Liberty ripped by Hazleton Area

December 23, 2023: Bethlehem, PA 18018

The Hazleton Area Cougars basketball team scored 79 points and held the host Liberty Hurricanes to 53 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cougars now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tunkhannock for a Wyoming Valley 3 contest on Wednesday, December 27. Hazleton Area will battle a Tigers team coming off a 45-32 non-league loss to Delaware Valley (Milford, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 0-2.

The Hurricanes (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA). The Comets enter the non-league contest with a 4-0 record. In their last contest, Abington Heights triumphed over Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA), 47-37, in a non-league contest.
