The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the McConnellsburg Spartans (McConnellsburg, PA) and the host Shade Panthers (Cairnbrook, PA), observed McConnellsburg's basketball team knock off Shade by a score of 54-34.

The Spartans (6-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Southern Fulton (Warfordsburg, PA). The Indians come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Southern Fulton dropped by Windber (Windber, PA), 57-23, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the North Star Cougars (Boswell, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 3. Shade will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record.
