The Chatham Cougars (Chatham, NJ) basketball nipped the visiting New Providence Pioneers (New Providence, NJ), 65-63 in Monday's non-league test.
The Cougars (3-2) will now prepare for their test against Hanover Park (East Hanover, NJ). The Hornets go into the Northwest Jersey - American test with a 4-0 record. In their last test, Hanover Park got by Cranford (Cranford, NJ), 77-62, in a non-league test.
The Pioneers now own a 3-1 record. They play next when they host Abraham Clark for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 3. New Providence will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 72-53 league win over Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights, NJ). The Rams record now stands at 5-0.
