In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Manville Mustangs basketball team scored a close 42-41 win over the North Plainfield Canucks.
The Mustangs (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Dunellen (Dunellen, NJ). The Destroyers come into the non-league contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Dunellen edged Highland Park (Highland Park, NJ), 61-51, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Canucks battle the J.P. Stevens Hawks (Edison, NJ) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. North Plainfield will attempt to better on its 0-4 season record.
