York Institute Dragons (Jamestown, TN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS), 63-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, York Institute upgrades its record to 4-6 on the season. The Dragons travel to Unicoi County (Erwin, TN) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 12-2. Unicoi County won 65-48 in their recent non-league bout against Demopolis (Demopolis, AL)

Next up, the Cougars play the Episcopal Knights (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 28. Simpson Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 44-42 non-league win over Clarkrange (Clarkrange, TN).
