St. Joseph Spartans (Natrona Heights, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Valley Vikings (New Kensington, PA), 51-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Joseph upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Spartans host Riverview (Oakmont, PA) to clash with the Raiders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 7-2. Riverview won 72-64 in their recent non-league bout against Indiana (Indiana, PA)

Next up, the Vikings clash with the Derry Trojans (Derry, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record.
