The Barnstable Red Hawks basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the host Nantucket Whalers to 31 in the Red Hawks non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Red Hawks now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Martha's Vineyard Regional for a Cape & Islands contest on Tuesday, January 3.

The Whalers (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional (South Yarmouth, MA). The Dolphins come into the Cape & Islands contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional was routed by Dover-Sherborn (Dover, MA), 48-32, in a non-league contest.
