Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Carlisle Indians (Carlisle, OH), 36-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newton Local upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Indians host Dixie (New Lebanon, OH) to play the Greyhounds in a Western Ohio bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a record of 5-3.

Next up, the Indians play the Eaton Eagles (Eaton, OH) in a Southwestern Buckeye - West bout, on Thursday, January 5. Carlisle will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record.
