Unatego Spartans (Otego, NY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hamilton Emerald Knights (Hamilton, NY), 44-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Unatego upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Spartans host Unadilla Valley (New Berlin, NY) to play the Storm in a Section 4 Midstate bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Storm come into the bout with a record of 3-5. Unadilla Valley lost 44-34 in their recent non-league bout against Sherburne-Earlville (Sherburne, NY)

Next up, the Emerald Knights play the Whitesboro Warriors (Marcy, NY) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 28. Hamilton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 46-23 league loss to Oneida (Oneida, NY).
